I had been following this Great Grey Owl for about a week. On this occasion the light conditions were rather poor. I decided I would try to get a portrait shot with a black background by using a small amount of fill flash. I brightened the eyes a bit more in post production. I am pleased with the atmosphere that the image creates, a dark mysterious feel, that fits the image we have of owls.
