Colored Water in a Colorless Landscape
Since it is still very early spring, vibrant colors have not yet come to the woods and marshlands of coastal New Jersey. In this photo, taken in one of the units of the Edwin Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, the still mostly drab-looking upland landscape has been brightened by the tell-tale red color of the cedar water in the creek, as well as the blue reflection from the sky above.
