Alive Oak
I love this tree. It sits in a parking lot two blocks from the ocean in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It grows among a handful of other Live Oaks that are comparable to it in size, but not shape. This one seems to me like it has been fighting its way through the others to carve out a spot to sunbathe. Over the years, I have seen the tree hundreds of times and taken several photos, but until last year I'd never seen it in quite this way. I feel like it mimics countless other things in the universe.
