Tourists, donkeys and camels
A group of young turist, riding on donkeys and camels, is moving into the sunset warm light towards the ruins of Masada, Israel.
Masada was an ancient fortress, situated on a rock 400 m above the Dead Sea, in the south-eastern Judea, in Israeli territory about 100 km south-east of Jerusalem.
The Siege of Masada by troops of the Roman Empire towards the end of the First Jewish–Roman War ended in the mass suicide of the soldiers and their families hiding there (74 CE).
