    These persistent stumps were barely suspended by their dead roots, clinging gracefully to this eroded creek bank. I loved how they almost defied gravity in this way, still holding on, denying their own deaths. Black and white seemed appropriate to bring out the wood grain and ethereal quality to the scene.
