    Reported by:

The wary eyes of a young Filipina commuter stare out from behind the iron bars of a glassless jeepney window. Jeepneys are the cheapest and most popular means of transport for daily life in the Philippines but are usually uncomfortable and hazardous because of the engine fumes that passengers inhale. In addition, pickpockets are an omnipresent risk and armed robberies, whilst less frequent, are also a serious threat.
