Nandhi (Bull) is considered to be a favorite guard of Lord Shiva. In all the Shiva temples one can see Nandhi predominantly at the entrance facing the sanctum sanctorum. It is believed that a wish told to the Nandhi will reach God and the wish will get fulfilled.
