There are two species of tulip tree, nothing to do with tulip flower, one in US, the other one in China. Its English name is based on the flower shape that looks like some kind of tulip flower; it counterpart in China is named based on the shape of its leave. Its Chinese name literally means a vest. This one is more like a T-shirt:))
