May 03, 2015. Last Sunday I left the house to go photograph these Owlets. It was somewhat early in the morning and the lighting was ok. I wished I had come a little earlier though. I love photographing all animals in the golden hours of the morning and just before sundown. It sure makes a good photo. I was so excited when I found this nest. Its in a old gravel pit and the tree grew up out of the hole, dug by a excavator. From the top of the bank and at 600mm, this is your view. Enjoy!
