Jays mobbing Crested serpent eagle
This crested serpent eagle was mobbed by two Eurasian jays for almost half hour, including dive-bombing onto the head and sideways attacks; the eagle was bothered but not enough to fly off. We could not ascertain the reason, perhaps the jays had a nearby nest. This scene was enacted in front of a birding group at Sarmoli village, near Munsiari, Uttarakhand, India, at a height of above 2500 msl, near a oak-rhododendron forest and a natural lake.
