    This shot was taken on the last day of our cherry harvest. My dad farms a 4 acre plot and in a good year he would yield 400 boxes of cherries an acre. In his best year he picked close to 800 boxes an acre. This year he estimates his yield to be around 60 boxes an acre. My photo shows the work of a crew of 10 over five hours - a mere four, half-full bins of cherries headed to the packing house. The declining crops are a result of warmer, drier winters in California's central valley.
