    Carpe Diem. Animals embrace this adage, taking in their surroundings and enjoying each moment. As my Aunt and I drove to a mountain we were to hike, her dog Marley enjoyed the fresh, brisk Kentucky air. Watching Marley, I began to envy the care-free and innocent life of dogs.
