    Steam rises from the rim of Kilauea Crater at dusk. I was drawn to this view in several different lighting situations because it seemed to maintain the qualities of fine zen scroll paintings… These cliffs are 400 feet high and the entire Kilauea Summit Caldera or Crater is 2.5 miles long and 2 miles wide. Mauna Loa (in the background) is the largest mountain in the world by mass and size measured from the ocean Floor. This shot taken at over 4000 foot elevation.
