In recent decades, the Svartisen glacier melting unvealed the bare rock on hundreds of meters. When we start climbing, at first sight, it seems that the eroded smooth hard and dry rock is a desertic place. But it is instead covered with a great variety of beautifully colored islands of life : lichens. They are of many different shapes, sizes and colours, like stars in an unexpected wonderland. I took maybe 50 pictures of these incredible creatures.
