Many do not associate Lagos, Nigeria with islands, but there are several small islands that are completely cut off from the mainland and only accessible by boat. Here you'll find sleepy little villages that are in direct contrast to the chaotic city scenes of the mainland. Where village life has not changed much for generations and the islanders seem almost forgotten, discarded by their government. Despite that, life is simple and the people seem happy to welcome city dwellers such as myself.
