    Edit Photo Details The ultimate body paint   #travel #ethiopia #karo #bodypaint #omovalley
A surreal day in the Omo Valley with the Karo tribe who number less than 3,000. Their villages are on the banks of the Omo River and they practise flood-retreat cultivation - a livelihood that's is being threatened by a dam being built nearby. This tribe elder with quite remarkable body paint and with a chunk of his left ear missing, posed unsmilingly but patiently despite my wide angle lens being 'in his face'. The 'sun' on the upper left is an off-camera flash - real sun on the right.
