An auspicious contrail from a late night airplane floated over the left periphery, directly aligning with Venus to create an effect of a passing meteor over the cluster of Maui observatories. As clouds passed through Kihei to Kahului, a passage through central Maui is marked with a glow. A spot of white signals from Lanai as the glow of Oahu blooms in the background as a car flashes camera right.
