Edit Photo Details Tiny moth with a big nose 02
I was surprised at the detail in this shot. Extreme closeup of this unassuming little moth. The feathery coat is amazing, as is the delicate patterning on the eye, but the odd projections from its face steal the show. I'm fairly certain they were not the antennae which you can see are thin and pulled back resting over the eye. I've seen similar species with a projection coming off the nose but never quite like this. Easily my favorite shot from this walk in the woods.
