    The lower antelope canyon is formed by flash flooding eroding the sandstone, creating a passageway through the rocks. Over time the passageways eroded away, making the corridors deeper and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic 'flowing' shapes in the rock. This particular picture was taken looking up toward the small openings in the rocks which let the light pass through, producing wonderful colors and contrast in the rocks.
