The Island and people of Japan have always held a very special place in my heart, even though I have never been there. In the mid 1960's my parents, through a church program, started taking in foriegn college exchange students on holidays and weekends to our home, We became life-long friends with two Japanese students, Mickey & Ken. One was Buddhist. We learned so much about Japanese culture, including, traditional dress, food, etc. Over the years we have exchanged cards and letters. Amazing!
