Visiting Manuel Antonio National Park, my husband and I had the opportunity to take a walk around the pubalo. The views from the pubalo were magnificent, but lighting was a little tricky. Taking the photo from an angle rather than straight on, and setting the camera for back light, I was able to avoid the silhouette effect. While gradual rise in water level leading land to be surrounded by water on three sides forms a peninsula, a pubalo, is formed by the wearing away of land by erosion.
