Mongolian Ger, Gobi Desert
This picture was taken during a five day road trip through the Gobi Desert, in the late afternoon when our van stopped for a quick rest. The contrast of the dark blue sky and mountains against the brown and green landscape was striking. We didn't visit the ger in the distance, but it was the only structure for miles. A family of nomads likely lived there. The image captures the nomadic lifestyle of the Mongolian people. A single family house, all alone in the vast emptiness.
