Amidst of the western Ghats. Western Ghats is the eighth hottest spot in the biological diversity in the world. The range runs north to south along the western edge of the Deccan plateau, and seperates from a narrow costal plain called, konkan, along the Arabian sea. It's sometimes called the great escarpment of India.
