Maafushi is a tiny inhabited island in the Indian Ocean.Its daily need for food,clothing etc. is met through goods imported to Male (~ 25 kms from Maafushi). The local ferry is one of the preferred means of getting to Male owing to its low cost when compared to speedboats/seaplanes. Also, sitting atop the terrace of the ferry gives you the opportunity to enjoy the cool breeze and breathtaking view of the ocean.
