I lived in French Polynesia for a semester and these rays were my study species. This photo was the first time I saw them. I was on a boat heading to a Motu, and these shadows appeared in the distance. The boat stopped and they got closer. I immediately decided I wanted to study them in this moment. It's been 7 years since this moment, but this photo is still my background and always makes me smile.
