About 10-15min. drive past the Wadi Mujib bridge at the Dead Sea in Jordan, you can hike down the side of the cliff about 20min. to get to this spot where all this was once under water of the salty lake, but because of evaporation, the shoreline is receding about a meter every year and leaves behind all this salt deposits. Sad yet beautiful at the same time.
