Two youthful explorers investigate a ships anchor at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria. The museum has extensive displays and programs describing maritime use of the Columbia River and the dangerous crossing of the nearby Columbia River Bar, sometime called the "graveyard of the Pacific". The light ship Columbia is moored to the adjacent dock along with an active Coastguard Cutter. Both are open for tours.
