I captured this image as a passenger on our Road Trip to Palouse Falls National Park, Washington, the famous farmland area. As we arrived, I saw this red barn with the stormy cloud behind it, so I grabbed this shot. I wanted to include some of the interior of the car because we were on a 'Road Trip' and I wanted to convey this to the viewer. I have since returned to Palouse two more times. It is chock full of photo opps.

Washington State's Palouse country is a photographer's mecca for the wonderful rolling hills, cultivated in picturesque rows. It's almost too easy to take good pictures there, because it's so perfectly arranged. But this shot reminds us that the Palouse is not just a place to go take pictures. Riding through this countryside in a car is pleasurable by itself. I especially like this shot because it's more than just a picture of a place. It's a picture of an experience.
