Arranmore
Arranmore Island is one of the most western points in Co. Donegal Ireland. This post was used during WWII as a station to search for German U-Boats. It has since fallen into disrepair. Just down the road, the lighthouse atop cliffs more that 120 m high. Waves from the open Atlantic have been known to knock this lighthouse over. The island is now inhabited solely by natives-no one without family property on the island may move there-and is used to raise sheep and harvest peat used in heating.
