In Filipino, 'Ate' traditionally refers to an older sister. It is not uncommon in the Philippines for older siblings to take care of their younger brothers or sisters as their parents go about their daily work routine. Photo taken in the remote northern island of Camiguin Norte in the Babuyan Channel.
