Jaleel is 34 and has been repairing electronics for a decade. While he does some repairs for Ghana homes and businesses, he fares far better repairing electronics from EU or USA. Studies show that importers of secondhand electronics in Ghana "waste" only 7% of what they import. Jaleel in Tamale is the same tribe as the Muslim wire burners in Agbogbloshie, but has no common business connection. He likes his job, and is held in high esteem in his family.
