Dragonets are small marine fish found mainly in the tropical waters of the western Indo-Pacific. Over 130 species of this fish have been identified. They spend most of their time near the sandy bottom. Dragonets are sometimes confused with members of the goby family, but are differentiated by the long dorsal fins on males and the protruding lower jaw on females.
