I was travelling solo in East Asia for 2 months, I had a trephinated toenail in Seoul upon arriving there after hiking Mount Fuji and spending three weeks in Japan, so I had to stay in Seoul longer than planned for my toe to heal. I made a friend and it so happened that she was a scientist and she and her team of scientists in Irkutsk were going to be taking water samples from Lake Baikal and the Selenga Delta. Team found a spot on an a small island in the Selenga delta to have lunch.
