"I'll take care of her."
After a 12 hour day running her restaurant, (left) Connie, 52, washes her 86-year-old mother's, Laura, feet then prepares her dinner. Laura, disabled with arthritis and pulmonary disease, depends entirely on Connie's care. When family talks suggested Laura be moved into a home, Connie said no. "She doesn't deserve that," she said. "As long as I am alive, I'll take care of her." Connie battles with her own arthritis with keeping busy and taking care of the people she loves.
This is a really powerful storytelling image that tells a complete story in a beautiful way. The gentleness and devotion of this unsung hero is inspiring. Thank you for sharing it with us!
