    We were in the polar bear denning area adjacent to Wapusk National Park, and witnessed the cub's dealing with his slippery surroundings. Even four paws didn't seem to help this time. Mom looks on with a somewhat exasperated but also an accepting look-she knows that eventually he will get the hang of it- And during our 5 day visit he certainly did. He was a joy to watch as he cavorted around, slid a time or two, tugged at his mom to come out and play, and generally made a pest of himself.
