Returning home one day I saw a couple of Turkey Vultures in trees near the road about a half mile from home. I quickly got my camera and returned to find them still there. I don't often get a close encounter with these birds, so I took a few shots. They really do perform a service to the ecosystem and community by removing and processing unpleasant carrion into nutrients for plants.
