Daybreak at Hopi Point
Seeing the sun rise over the Grand Canyon was definitely the high point of a recent family trip to the Southwestern United States. My father and I awoke an hour and a half before sunrise and boarded the first park shuttle bus to Hopi Point, along with a handful of other bleary-eyed tourists. We carefully selected our viewing spots and took at few test shots in silent, reverent anticipation of the phenomenon. The sun finally broke over the rim and cast a pale rosy glow over the misty canyon.
