I took this photo while working as a volunteer for a NGO in Tacloban, Philippines. Knowing the impact of typhoon Haiyan in 2013, I was astonished to see how quickly the community recovered. Still living in very poor conditions their spirits show almost no trace of the horror they survived. The only sounds you can hear there are those of kids playing, parents laughing or singing karaoke. For me they are a living proof that happiness doesn't come from wealth, but from accepting life as it comes.
