Edit Photo Details The Atsaras of the Paro Tshechu Festival   #festival #bhutan #paro #tshechu #atsaras #the_kingdom_of
Taken at the Anual Paro Tshechu Festival in The Kingdom of Bhutan or the Land of the Thunder Dragon as it is sometimes known. The Atsaras or Holy Teachers are seen as the jester of the festival and their apparent vulgarity comes from their detachment of human feelings, such as reservation or embarrassment. There role is to uproot evil from the minds of mortals.
