Squid at night
Bigfin reef squid at night. The skin of a squid is covered with chromatophores (pigment-containing and light-reflecting organelles in cells), which enable the squid to change color to suit its surroundings. This mechanism of camouflage provides to the squid protection against the predators. The squids are inconspicuous in a day light, but during the night the squids appear in the light-reflection with stunning beautiful colors colors.
