The lighting at dusk on the north of the Stockton Bight Sand Dunes National Park was ethereal. The sand dunes glowed under the pastel pink sunset light. The border between the dunes and the state forest was defined by the illuminated treeline, thus presenting a landscape with two contrasting parts. The barren landscape of sand dunes in contrast to the dense evergreen forest. The latter is home to many sea birds.
