    Reported by:

One of the success stories of conservation has been that of the Bontebok antelope that were almost eradicated by hunters in the last century. There were believed to be about seventeen of them left in the world in 1931 when conservationists had them protected and relocated to the Bontebok National Park in the Western Cape. Today their numbers have steadily recovered and are now listed as 'stable' by the IUCN global species programme.
