While getting gas, somewhere north of Bakersfield, I saw this dusty lot full of cows across the street. Nobody was around, so I went over to say Hello to them. When I was still a hundred feet away, every cow in the enclosure turned and trampled over to my part of the fence. They were incredibly friendly--and this cow in front most of all. She had some sort of eye irritation, so that her tears made long streaks in the dust on her face.
