Fiji is famous for its diverse shark population. One reason for this is early efforts for shark awareness through feeding programs which provide funds to fishing villages in exchange for a ban on shark fishing. The diversity of sharks was evident during two days of shark diving in which nine different species came in to feed, all in one day. Pictured here is a pregnant lemon shark with yellow pilot fish, evidence that the sharks are breeding and thriving here in Fiji.
