    Reported by:

Two giant engines from a B29 Superfortress plane that crashed on the Yorkshire Moors above Glossop, just after WWII. The landscape was stark, lunar and remote, just like these redundant powerhouses. This was a photographic reconnaissance plane called Overexposed, based at RAF Scampton and tasked with keeping an eye on the Soviets, she had also accompanied the B29 which dropped the Able atomic bomb in 1946 - one of the very first tests the US would conduct.
