    Red eyes cicada (Magicicada septendecim) is native to Canada and the United States. It has a 17-year life cycle. If the picture was taken in May 2007, it’s reasonable to expect the new generation in May 2024 – just 9 years left. The picture was taken in Mattisen, Illinois, USA
