On vacation we traveled to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is the most visited national park in the United States. On its route from Maine to Georgia, the Appalachian Trail also passes through the center of the park. We were headed to New Found Gap that morning and found the roads closed by a winter storm. Later that afternoon the roads opened and we encountered lots of snow and icicles. A Minolta 3xi SLR 35 mm film camera with a polarizing filter was used to make the capture.
