I was actually out bald eagle hunting in Belle Haven, south of the Washington DC beltway when I saw this Red Tail Hawk sitting on a branch. So, I set up my tripod and decided to wait her out. Only 20 minutes later, she spotted dinner and took off. It was a fantastic experience for me watching the hunt from start to finish (she landed back on a nearby tree and ate dinner).
