Edit Photo Details Discovering History-Christ Church   #philly #christchurch
Although I have known that my 7th great uncle was Nathaniel Greene, who fought beside George Washington, I did not know that his wife traveled with him to just about every battlefield. I found out that he attended Christ Church while in Philadelphia. A few years after the war, Nathaniel died leaving his wife penniless. She took in Eli Whitney, inventor of the cotton gin, in order to help make ends meet.
