Last Saturday I've watched a very interesting old Friesian traditional "sport" Ringrijden. In West Friesland, participants sit in a gig (carriage) with a beautiful Friesian horse. The Lady sitting next to the driver of the gig holds the ring stab spear and tries to get the ring on it. The winner is with the most amount of collected rings. This type of ring stabbing is more focused on the folkloric aspect. The ring stabbing was some centuries ago as a game at fairs, where all farmers gathered. To
